A Little Bit About Mr. Geno.
I have been teaching special education at Hazel Park for 4 years. I enjoy teaching a great deal. I am, what is called, a "life long learner" and spend a lot of my time finding ways to make my classroom more interactive, motivational, and fun for my students. This year I will be teaching two classes on Reading/Writing Skills as well as two Self Directed Skills classes.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My wife is a decorative painter/ artist who pushes me creatively in ways that I never could have imagined. I have two children that are products of the St. Paul School District, of which I am very proud. When I am at home I spend most of my time working on our house or trying to figure out how to work on our house in the most cost effective manner. I am interested in a number of subjects such as politics, religion, and philosophy which is a challenge for me during social engagements. I am an avid reader of historical fiction and cookbooks. I consider myself imaginative and spend an inordinate amount of my time trying to figure out how to make things, people, and systems work most effectively. As to how this relates to school, I work hard to create an environment that manages a balance between safety and creativity which motivate my students toward academic success.
