In the 2007-2008 school year, the St. Paul Public School District initiated the use of Instructional Coaches in all of its schools. An Instructional Coach is a person who has been identified as a master teacher, who is a resource and mentor for other teachers.

Jodi Goodnow, Instructional Coach at Hazel Park Academy, has worked in the Saint Paul district for over twenty years as a teacher and building coach, and assists Hazel Park teachers and staff in continuously improving their craft.
