Hazel Park is working to service all special education students in the method that works best for each student.  Students receive services based on the needs addressed in each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).  We offer pull-out classes in math, reading, and English.  In addition, we offer collaborative classes in English, math, science, and social studies to support those students who would otherwise struggle with the content of these classes.  Students are also serviced through a Self-Directed Skills class, which focus on increasing school success and independence.  Hazel Park offers more intensive services through the PAS program.  Students may also receive speech and language services or social work services.  No matter what the student’s needs, the Special Education Department works hard to provide an appropriate setting in order to ensure student success.
