School Social Workers are trained and licensed mental health professionals who provide a link between home, school, and community.  As members of the educational team, school social workers promote and support the academic, social, and emotional success of all students by providing specialized services that may include:

  • Individual and group therapeutic services
  • Crisis prevention and intervention
  • Parent/guardian education and training
  • Professional case management
  • Information and referral
  • Collaboration and consultation with other agencies and professionals
  • Advocacy for students, parents, staff, and the district
  • Coordination of programs specific to student needs (such as IEP and 504 plans)
